While the appearance of the root looks like an ordinary wood-like stick when you chew on a piece there is a distinctly sweet taste.

Licorice root has been one of the most widely used herbs in many herbal traditions of the world because of its concentrated triterpenoid saponins.

WHAT WE LOVE:

"In Asian and African medicine, licorice is  "the great harmonizer" because it is thought to help support the body. It is considered a Chi (energy) tonic. It is also one of the few herbal substances that enters all twelve meridians and is considered an adaptogen."

Brian ★★★★★

I was skeptical when I opened the bag and saw what looked like twigs, but chewing a piece gives off this gentle sweetness that lingers. I've been steeping a stick in hot water for tea in the evenings and it's become a little ritual. Genuinely didn't expect a dried root to taste this good on its own.

Penelope ★★★★★

The sticks look exactly like plain wood chips, so I was surprised by how sweet they actually taste once you start chewing. I've been steeping a piece in hot water for tea in the evenings and it gives a nice mellow sweetness without any sugar.

Ava ★★★★★

I wasn’t sure what to expect from something that looks like a twig, but the first chew surprised me with that deep, natural sweetness. It lasts a good while as you work it, and it’s nice to have a treat that isn’t loaded with sugar.
